Principal Consultant

Shenita B. Vanish —
three decades of raising resources
for the people who need them most.

CADE is not a template shop. Founded and led by Shenita B. Vanish, the practice draws on three decades of frontline nonprofit leadership, dual CEO and President roles, and over $30 million raised for youth-serving and community-based organizations. Headquartered in South Carolina, CADE now serves clients statewide and across the country — organizations that find us because the work speaks for itself.

Shenita approaches every new business engagement with a structural lens: the problems our organizations face are not accidents, and the solutions require more than good intentions. They require strategy, data, and a partner who has sat where you're sitting.

AI Training

Every organization is being asked to "use AI" with no one explaining what that actually means for their staff, their board, or their budget. CADE trains nonprofit and business teams to use AI tools for grant research, donor communications, and day-to-day operations — practically, securely, and without the hype.

Business Development & Digital Marketing

A funder does not just read your proposal — they Google you first. CADE builds the digital presence that holds up to that scrutiny: full website design and development, social media account setup and content frameworks, and the brand infrastructure that makes a growing organization look as credible as its work already is. Built from scratch where needed, managed on an ongoing basis where wanted.

Community Development Consulting

Rooted in South Carolina, CADE brings deep relational capital and local knowledge alongside national best practices to community development projects, coalition building, and public-private partnership development — for clients across the state and beyond.

Corporate Partnership Strategy

Corporate community investment is more competitive than ever. CADE builds alignment between your mission and the business case for corporate partners — prospecting, cultivation, and stewardship included.

CSR Alignment · Sponsorship · Stewardship

Fundraising Strategy

A single grant is not a fundraising strategy. CADE works with nonprofit boards and executives to build diversified, sustainable revenue models — including individual giving programs, major gift strategies, and annual fund infrastructure.

Annual Fund · Major Gifts · Board Development

Grant Writing & Development

From prospecting and alignment to submission and reporting — CADE manages the full grant development lifecycle. We write for foundations, federal agencies, and corporate funders, with particular depth in youth development, education, and community health.

Organizational Capacity Building

Funding follows credibility. CADE helps small and emerging nonprofits build the operational infrastructure funders expect to see: financial systems, program data collection, board governance, and the narrative to match.

For Diversified Accounting Services, CADE delivered a complete digital presence from the ground up: full website design and development, live deployment with DNS and SSL configuration, business card design, and a full digital asset package inclusive of social media postings — the same infrastructure work described above, already built and running for a real client.

Track Record

Impact is not a tagline.
It's a track record.

How We Work

Every engagement starts
with an honest
assessment.

CADE does not deliver generic strategy decks. Every engagement begins with understanding where you actually are — not where you wish you were — and builds a path from that starting point. We will tell you what funders, clients, or customers will see when they look at your organization. That honesty is the service.

We are a boutique practice by design. That means your project receives principal attention — not junior staff — and decisions are made with the full weight of 30 years of experience behind them.

1

Discovery & Assessment

A structured review of where you stand today — fundraising capacity, brand presence, or organizational health, depending on what brought you here. Honest findings, no sugarcoating.

2

Strategy Development

A specific, prioritized plan aligned to your mission or business goals, your team's capacity, and the realities of your sector — funding landscape, market, or audience.

3

Implementation Support

Grant writing, donor communications, board training, website builds, social media setup, and the hands-on support to execute the strategy we build together.

4

Measurement & Refinement

Results tracked against clear benchmarks. What worked gets amplified. What didn't gets adjusted — not buried in a final report.

"The organizations doing the most critical work for underserved communities are often the least equipped to compete for the funding that sustains them. That gap is exactly where CADE operates."

Common Questions

Answers before
you have to ask.

I'm a new business and I don't know where to start. Can CADE help me?+

Yes. We'll help you decide whether a nonprofit or for-profit structure is the right fit for what you're building, and once that decision is made, CADE can help you set up the business itself — marketing included.

Does CADE only serve businesses in South Carolina?+

No. CADE is based in South Carolina and serves clients throughout the country. If you have a need that's specific to your local region, we can also refer you to trusted partners in your area.

I'm a nonprofit organization and need help writing a grant. Can CADE help me?+

Yes. With experience writing federal grants, corporate appeals, and foundation funding requests, CADE can help you build a competitive proposal from the ground up.

I have a grant but need an external evaluator. Can CADE help me?+

Yes. CADE has experience on both sides of this work — as a grant-funded organization managing evaluators, and as an evaluator for other nonprofit organizations. We can support your external evaluation needs.

I have a grant and need help with my reporting. Can CADE help me?+

Yes. CADE can manage your grant reporting based on your specific funder's requirements and timeline.

I'm a content creator working as a solopreneur, and I need help setting up my website and social media platforms. Where do I begin?+

You're in the right place. CADE can design your logo, build your website, establish your presence across social media platforms, and put together a content plan to keep it all moving.

There are so many options for CRMs, phone services, web hosting, and more. Where do I begin?+

You begin by reaching out to CADE. We'll walk through your options with you and help you choose what actually fits your business's needs and budget — not just what's popular.

Is there someone who will actually talk to me, or is this all AI?+

CADE uses AI to help understand your needs up front, so we can schedule you for a free 15-minute phone consultation with a live human — not a bot standing in for one.

What's the first step to working with CADE?+

Reach out through the contact form, phone, or the chat on this site. We'll ask a few questions about where you are and what you need, then schedule a consultation to talk through whether — and how — CADE can help.

How much does it cost to work with CADE?+

Every engagement is scoped to the organization — a grant-writing project, an ongoing fundraising retainer, and a website build don't cost the same thing, and none of them should be priced off a generic menu. We'll give you a clear, specific quote after we understand what you actually need.

Do I need to meet with you in person, or can we work remotely?+

Most CADE engagements happen remotely — by phone, video, and email — regardless of where your organization is based. In-person meetings are available for clients in South Carolina when it makes sense for the work.

My organization doesn't have 501(c)(3) status yet. Can CADE still help?+

Yes. CADE can help you think through your nonprofit formation and 501(c)(3) filing before you ever need to write a grant, so you're not building your fundraising strategy on an unfinished foundation.

My board isn't very engaged and our internal systems are a mess. Can CADE help even if I don't need a grant right now?+

Yes. Funders look at more than your programs — they look at your governance and your infrastructure. CADE's organizational capacity building work addresses exactly this, whether or not a specific grant is on the table right now.

Will my organization's information stay confidential?+

Yes. What you share with CADE about your organization's finances, internal challenges, or strategy stays between us, used only to do the work you've hired us for.

How long does a typical engagement take?+

It depends on the work — a single grant proposal might take a few weeks, while an ongoing fundraising strategy or capacity-building engagement is typically structured in months, not days. We'll give you a specific timeline once we understand your scope.
